The short version

The numbers you type into the calculators never leave your browser. There is no account, no sign up and no newsletter. The site does show advertising, and advertising uses cookies, which is the one place where anything about you is collected at all.

What you type

Your state, your electricity bill and the sliders are held in the page while you are on it and are gone the moment you close the tab. They are not sent to a server, not written to a database and not shared with an installer or anyone else. The calculation runs in JavaScript on your own device.

Advertising

Energy Payoff uses Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on that history.

You can turn personalized advertising off at Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of a third party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. Turning it off does not remove the ads; it makes them less relevant.

Third party vendors, including Google, may serve ads on this site using their own cookies. This site has no access to and no control over those cookies, and does not read them.

Analytics

Traffic is measured in aggregate: how many people opened a page, which country they came from, which page sent them. It is counting, not identifying, and none of it is tied to the figures you enter.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Your rights

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you have the right to know what is held about you, to have it deleted, and to object to its use for advertising. Since nothing you type is stored, a request here is mostly a question about advertising cookies, which you control through the two links above. Write to hello@energypayoff.com and you will get an answer.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described on this page rather than slipped in.
